The Magic of Reason by Justine Larbalestier.
A SFBC omnibus edition containing
Magic or Madness
Magic Lessons
Magic's Child
The story is set mostly in Australia and New York City and told in alternate POV's from Australian and New Yorker's magic users. Her web site is here: http://justinelarbalestier.com/
Tiger Moon by Antonia Michaelis translated from German by Anthea Bell
A tale of India still under British rule. Not about the Great Game. All I could find is her publishers site: http://www.loewe-verlag.de/rights/author-1215_michaelis_antonia.html
Murder most Maine by Karen MacInerney A "cozy" mystery set in Maine with the obligatory (but this time diet conscious) recipes. This is the third in a series and a good read. But I'm bummed because I somehow missed the second in the series. Since a lot of the appeal of "cozies" is local and, character development and continuity I've missed some of the fun. They can be read any of order but I prefer not to. The web site is here: http://www.karenmacinerney.com/
Ghouls Just Haunt To Have Fun by Victoria Laurie. A good read but no more believable than the first two in the series. The web site is here: http://victorialaurie.com/index.php
This has been cross posted at Live Journal http://bookmobiler.livejournal.com/ and eBolgger http://readingaddiction-bookmobiler.blogspot.com/
